SRX19297660: WGS of Cercospora zeina
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 3000) run: 5.2M spots, 1.4G bases, 689.1Mb downloads

Design: FS libraries were constructed with the P/C sample preparation protocol by the Max Planck Genome Centre (Cologne, Germany).
Submitted by: University of Pretoria
Study: Sequencing of 30 African Cercospora zeina strains
show Abstracthide Abstract
Cercospora zeina is the causal agent of Grey Leaf Spot (GLS) disease of maize in Africa. This fungal disease results in substantial yield losses in susceptible maize genotypes. Sequencing additional genomes of the pathogen allows the construction of a pangenome towards understanding local adaptation on the continent. Manuscript title: Population genomic analyses suggest recent dispersal events of the pathogen Cercospora zeina into East and Southern African maize cropping systems Authors: Welgemoed T, Duong TA, Barnes I, Stukenbrock EH, Berger DK.
Sample: Single spore isolation of Cercospora zeina strain from gray leaf spot disease lesion on maize leaf. The species identity confirmed by ITS sequencing and phylogenetic analysis.
